At the age of 29, Josh was given a 30-year sentence for a $100,000 white-collar fraud, one of the harshest such sentences ever handed down. He has been incarcerated for over 15 years. Josh was saved by the grace of Jesus Christ, committed himself to the study of Federal Sentencing Law, and began helping fellow inmates apply for clemency and sentence reductions. He has helped dozens of deserving people earn a second chance at life.
Using only the strictly limited prison email system and law library, and with no direct internet access, Josh started The Justice Project from inside a prison cell. He has watched TJP grow into a network of advocates nationwide and is excited to see it expand further. He blogs at thejoshuabevillprisondiaries and is committed to helping fellow incarcerated people with all his strength. Josh hopes to one day earn his own freedom.
